Sarita Door Decoration

Hey everyone! I’m back with another project from the Close to My Heart Sarita Workshop on the Go kit that I got from Dr Phil Scraps. I made this door decoration using the remainder of the Kit. You might remember the photo cubes I made a few weeks ago from the same kit. I can’t believe how much stuff you get out of the kit. I still have left overs!!!! I have some of the Hemp Twine and some of the Assortment left. And, of course, I will have the stamp set forever =)

I started out my cutting out a circle (doesn’t have to perfect, it won’t show) to use a base. I took a 12 X 12 paper and cut it in half to make a 12 X 6 and rolled it in a cone shape and glued it to the base. Then, I continued gluing more coned in a circular pattern around the base. They don’t have to all be same size or shape. It adds visual interest and dimension if they are all slightly different. I also used some of the coordinating Sarita Textiles to make the hangar. I simply took three strips and braided them together and attached it to the back of the circular base. For the center I used a pocket from an old pair of jeans. It seemed to coordinate well with the colors and overall theme of the Sarita collection.

I made a few smaller cones and stuck them inside the pocket, just for fun.

I decorated the pocket with a couple of junk bows made using small pieces of the Textiles, Hemp Twine and the wooden hearts from the assortment package.

I made these flower medallions using the turquoise paper, flower stamp from the stamp set, and layered on a few pieces from the assortment package.

The great thing about the Workshop on the Go kits from Close to My Heart is that you can get several big projects out of them and still have product left over!
